KIM

Kim is the first female barber at Burns Barber Shop since it opened in the South Gate Plaza over 60 years ago. She is from Hamburg, NY and studied both cosmetology and barbering at Boces. Since 2013 Kim has worked for Just Teasin, Super Cuts and The Men’s Room, where she has honed her skills in both trades. She joined the Burns team in 2016 and even though she is the only female in a shop full of men, she has carved out her own spot and is here to stay. When asked why barbering over cosmetology? She said, “Barbering is more interesting, she likes the precision of the clipper work and the art of shaving.”
